FormSnapp vs Cognito Forms

A Cognito Forms alternative with premium design and AI

Cognito Forms is generous and strong on calculations and payments, but its forms look functional rather than polished. FormSnapp calculates and scores too since 1.6.0, and adds premium on-brand design, AI generation and per-question drop-off analytics.

The short answer

Cognito Forms is unusually capable for the price — its Pro plan buys calculations, payments and document merge — but it meters entries at 2,000 a month and caps you at two users. FormSnapp is $19 with no entry cap on any plan, and since 1.6.0 it calculates and scores as well. Cognito is still the better tool if the form has to take money or produce a document.

Where Cognito Forms is genuinely better

Calculation goes deeper, and reaches the payment

Priced line items, quantity maths and running totals that feed the charge at the end. FormSnapp added values, calculations and scoring in 1.6.0, so a form here works a number out too — but Cognito's engine is older, wired directly into its payment field, and handles order-line arithmetic that ours does not.

Payments are built in

Stripe, PayPal and Square, with the calculated total flowing into the charge. We have no payment field, so an order form here collects the order and takes the money elsewhere.

Document merge and HIPAA

Generate a filled PDF from a submission, and a HIPAA-compliant tier if you need one. Both are real capabilities we do not have.

Choose Cognito Forms if the form takes a payment, prices order lines, produces a document, or handles protected health information.

Switching from Cognito Forms

  1. 1

    Rebuild the form

There is no importer, so start from a template or describe the form to the AI, which is usually quicker than recreating it field by field.

  2. 2

    Keep your old responses

Export your Cognito Forms responses to CSV before you cancel. They stay with Cognito Forms; FormSnapp starts collecting from the day you publish.

  3. 3

    Swap the link

Replace the link, embed or QR code wherever the old form was shared.

Specific to Cognito Forms: Cognito payment fields and document templates have no equivalent here, so forms that take money should stay on Cognito for now. Calculations rebuild as values and a Calculated field.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What people ask when they are weighing FormSnapp against Cognito Forms.

Is FormSnapp as generous on free as Cognito Forms?

Yes — FormSnapp's free plan includes unlimited forms and unlimited responses, where Cognito's free plan stops at 100 entries a month. Pro is $19/mo.

Does FormSnapp do calculations?

Yes, since 1.6.0. A form can carry values it works out — a score, a total, a label — with rules that add to, subtract from, multiply or set them, and a Calculated field that shows the result live as someone answers. Cognito still goes further on priced order lines that feed a payment.

Why switch from Cognito Forms?

For designed themes, AI generation, per-question drop-off on Pro, and no monthly entry cap on any plan.
