Inside the template

What this quick poll asks, and why

A poll works best when the question fills the screen and answering takes one tap, so this template asks one question at a time. Replace the sample question and options with your own. After voting, people can explain their choice, say how strongly they feel about it, and leave an email to receive the results. All three follow-ups are optional, so a quick vote stays quick. Share the link in a chat, an email or a slide, or print the QR code for a room. The answer breakdown shows the totals as votes come in.

The 4 questions it asks

In order, with their field types and why each one is there. Pick one to see its screen above. Edit, reorder or delete any of them once it's yours.

  • The poll itself. Replace the question and options with your own; it is the only required answer, so voting takes one tap.

  • Optional, for people who want to explain their vote. Read a handful to understand why the winning option won.

  • Shows how strongly people hold their view. A narrow win among people who 'don't feel strongly' is a weaker mandate.

  • For anyone who wants the result. Email them the totals when the poll closes.

When to use it

Built for these jobs, and easy to bend to yours

  • A quick decision across a team or community
  • A social or newsletter poll
  • Testing a headline, name or price point
  • Any question where the count is the answer

Ways to adapt it

Image choice poll

Swap the options for an image choice question to vote on designs, logos or product photos.

Ranked poll

Replace the single answer with a ranking question when you want people to order several options rather than pick one.

Embedded in a newsletter

Link to the poll from your newsletter or embed it on a blog post, and report the result in the next issue.

Best practices

How to get good answers from a quick poll

  1. 1

    Ask one clear question

A poll works when the question has an obvious set of answers. If you need several questions, it is a survey and should be treated as one.

  2. 2

Offer a 'none of these' option

Forcing people to pick from options they dislike gives a misleading result. An escape option keeps the count honest.

  3. 3

    Set a closing time

Say when the poll closes and set the form to close then. An open-ended poll is rarely acted on.

  4. 4

    Share the result

Tell people which option won and what you will do next. It is what makes them vote in the next one.

After you publish

Where the responses go next

  1. Watch the votes come in

The dashboard shows how many people chose each option as responses arrive, with no spreadsheet needed.

  2. Close it automatically

Set a closing date or a maximum number of responses, with your own message for anyone who arrives late. Free on every plan.

  3. Send the result

Export the emails left in the last question and send everyone who asked the final totals.

FAQ

Quick Poll: common questions

Still deciding?

Rating, NPS, ranking and matrix questions, with completion analytics on every plan.

How is a poll different from a survey?

A poll asks one question and is answered in seconds; the count is the result. A survey asks several and is analysed. This template keeps every follow-up optional so it stays a poll.

Can voters see the results?

Not on the form. People who want the result can leave an email, and you can send the totals when the poll closes.

Can people vote more than once?

Per-IP rate limiting stops rapid repeated submissions, but a determined person could vote twice. For a binding vote, ask for an email or, on Pro, a verified email.

How do I put a poll on my website?

Use the embed snippet to place it in any page, or share the link or QR code in a social post or newsletter.

Is there a limit on votes?

No. Every plan, Free included, has unlimited responses.
