Inside the template

What this college admission application asks, and why

A full admissions application in four named steps. The first collects personal details, address and citizenship. The second covers education: the most recent school, the highest qualification and subjects with grades. The third asks for the program, the start date, full- or part-time study and how the applicant expects to fund their studies; choosing a scholarship or bursary opens a question about which one. The fourth takes the personal statement, a transcript upload, optional photo ID and a declaration. A review step shows every answer before submission, and applicants can save their progress and return later.

The 18 questions it asks

In order, with their field types and why each one is there. Pick one to see its screen above. Edit, reorder or delete any of them once it's yours.

  • The applicant's full legal name, as it appears on official documents.

  • Date of birth.

  • For admissions decisions and requests for documents.

  • Required, for interviews and urgent questions.

  • Home address, asked line by line.

  • Citizenship, which affects fees and visa requirements.

  • Most recent school or college.

  • Highest qualification completed, including 'still studying for it'.

  • Subjects and grades in the applicant's own words.

  • The program applied for. Edit to your own courses.

  • Preferred start, September, January or either.

  • Full-time or part-time study.

  • How they expect to fund their studies. Only 'A scholarship or bursary' asks which.

  • Shown only to applicants expecting a scholarship or bursary.

  • The personal statement: why this program, and why now.

  • A required transcript upload.

  • Optional photo ID upload.

  • A required declaration that everything is true and complete.

1 question is conditional. It only appears when an earlier answer calls for it, so most people answer 17, not 18.

Best practices

How to get good answers from a college admission application

  1. 1

    Turn on the review step

A final page showing every answer lets applicants catch mistakes before they submit an application that matters this much.

  2. 2

    Give statement guidance

Say how long the statement should be and what to cover in the question's description.

  3. 3

    Publish the deadline

Set a closing date at your application deadline and say it on the welcome screen.

  4. 4

    Ask for documents once

Collect transcripts and ID with the application, rather than emailing for them later.

After you publish

Where the responses go next

  1. Review applications

Each application arrives with its documents attached. Search by program to review one course at a time.

  2. Send to your admissions system

On Pro, a webhook or Zapier step can create a record in your student or CRM system.

  3. Track demand

The answer breakdown shows applications by program, entry date and study mode.
